Data processing via social networks

We – AMINO GmbH – operate publicly accessible profiles in social networks. We have provided specific details of the social networks we use later in this document.

Social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. are able to conduct in-depth analysis of user behavior when users visit their websites.

If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal will be able to attribute this visit to your user account. In some circumstances, however, your personal data may also be collected if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. In such cases, your data may be collected using cookies, which are stored on your end device, or by recording your IP address.

With the help of the data collected in this manner, the operators of social media portals can create user profiles that contain your preferences and interests. This also makes it possible to display advertisements to you relating to your interests, both within and outside of the respective social media platform. If you have an account with the social network in question, it will be possible to display advertisements relating to your interests across all devices on which you are or have logged in to your account.

Please also note that we are unable to track all processing operations performed on social media portals. Therefore, depending on the provider, the operators of social media portals may perform further processing operations. For further details, consult the terms and conditions of use and the data privacy information provided by the respective social media portals. We have provided corresponding links in the information below relating to the respective providers.

We have no influence over the retention period for the data that social network operators store for their own purposes. For specific information in this regard, consult information provided by the social networks’ operators directly (e.g. in their data privacy statement; see below).

Facebook

We are jointly responsible for our Facebook presence (Art. 26 GDPR) in conjunction with Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. In line with this, we have concluded an agreement with Facebook regarding our shared responsibility for the processing of data. You can view the agreement via the following link:

In accordance with this agreement, Facebook undertakes responsibilities to inform data subjects, to ensure data security, and to report infringements of data privacy. Pursuant to this agreement, Facebook is the first point of contact when exercising data subject rights. As the provider of the social network, Facebook is the only party able to access the required information, implement any necessary measures, and provide you with information. Nevertheless, should you require our support, you can also contact us. You can find our contact information at the end of this data privacy statement.

In maintaining our Facebook presence, we use Facebook’s Insights function to obtain anonymized statistical data concerning visits to our Facebook presence. You can find information regarding Insights and Facebook pages in Facebook’s Data Policy.

Facebook also uses cookies and other data collection technologies to collect data on visits to our Facebook pages and other Facebook pages. Facebook’s Cookie Policy contains more detailed information regarding the use of cookies.

The information generated by Insights informs us of the typical profile and behavior of visitors to our Facebook presence and therefore enables us to tailor our content to your interests. The Page Insights are exclusively provided to us in aggregated and anonymized form. We have no access to the personal data used to create Page Insights.

In addition, we use our Facebook presence to exchange views with interested Facebook users. In this context, we may in some circumstances receive further information, e.g. on the basis of user comments, private messages or because you follow us or share our content. We process this data exclusively to communicate and interact with you.

We operate this Facebook presence in order to present ourselves to interested parties and to communicate with them. The processing of personal data is therefore conducted on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR in pursuit of our legitimate interests.

As the circumstances may require, some of the collected data may be processed outside the European Union by Facebook Inc., which is based in the USA. Facebook Inc. is certified under the US-EU Privacy Shield data privacy agreement and is therefore committed to complying with European data privacy regulations.

AMINO GmbH does not disclose any personal data that we receive via our Facebook presence.

All data subjects have a right of access in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR. If we process your personal data, you have the right to rectification in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR, the right to erasure in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, the right to restriction of processing in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR, the right to object pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR and the right to data portability pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR. Furthermore, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR in conjunction with Section 19 BDSG).

If you have consented to the processing of your personal data, you can also revoke this consent at any time by the same method you first provided it. Revoking your consent does not affect the legality of the processing performed on the basis of your previously issued consent.

According to our agreement with Facebook, Facebook is the first point of contact when exercising data subject rights. As the provider of the social network, Facebook is the only party with direct access to the required information. Moreover, Facebook is in a position to take any necessary measures directly and to provide information. Nevertheless, should you require our support, you can also contact us.

You have the right to object at any time to the processing of data relating to your person performed on the basis of Art. 6 para.1 e) GDPR (data processing in the public interest) and Art. 6 para.1 f) of the GDPR (data processing for the purposes of legitimate interests) for reasons relating to your particular situation.

In the ad preferences settings on Facebook, you can influence the extent to which your behavior is recorded during your visit to our Facebook presence. You can also influence how Facebook processes your data via your Facebook settings or using the relevant form to submit an objection.
